Our third batch from the Speyburn distillery is a 10 Year Old, a release of just 1,540 bottles at 49.5% abv.

Speyburn started operation in 1897, the year of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. So keen were they to fill a cask marked with 1897 that the stills ran at the end of December, before the doors and windows were even in place! Just one single butt was filled with spirit that day, but they achieved their 1897 cask.

Tasting notes

Nose: Stewed plums, a rich warm spiciness and spiced oranges with a honeyed sweetness.

Palate: At first there's a touch of vanilla sweetness before warming ginger comes through, leading to a spicy mouthfeel.

Finish: The ginger spices linger on with the fruity plum and orange flavours too.
